Air Transat A330-200 C-GITS TSC 236 “Azores Glider”
This product is a 1:400 scale high-precision alloy aircraft model produced by Kylin Models, meticulously scaled down to the details of the actual aircraft. Featuring detailed paintwork, a metal fuselage, and detailed antennas and landing gear, it is an ideal choice for aviation enthusiasts and model collectors.
On August 24, 2001, Captain Robert Piché and his co-pilot, through their exceptional piloting skills, used the powerless passenger plane as a glider for approximately 65 nautical miles (120 kilometers), ultimately making a successful emergency landing at Leješ Air Base in the Azores in the Atlantic Ocean. All 306 people on board survived.
After being repaired, the aircraft continued to serve with Transocean Airlines and was given the legendary nickname "Azores Glider" by officials and aviation enthusiasts. The aircraft was officially retired in October 2021.
